John E. Sola, Sr.
President
John is a Vietnam veteran who served four years as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. He is a lifetime resident of Stockton who spent 30 years as a paramedic and captain for the Stockton Fire Department. John retired as Deputy Director of Fire Training in 1998. He also served as director of Fire Training and EMS programs at Modesto Junior College from 2003-2013.
Anna Fong Morgan
Secretary
Anna moved to Stockton from Southern California more than a decade ago. She is a retired Legal Assistant who worked at the Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin.
Anna organized the annual Serve Our Stockton, a citywide community service event that is now called Love Stockton. The event which involved over 27 churches and organizations and had more than 2,000 volunteers completed over 50 city and community projects every year.
Past involvements with the community include City of Stockton's VISTAS (Volunteers In Service To Aid Stockton) Program; Stockton Police Chaplaincy; the San Joaquin Thanksgiving Outreach helping to feed students and their families from local elementary schools on Thanksgiving Day.
Dan Platt
Treasurer
Dan is a life long Stockton resident, who recently retired from San Joaquin County. Dan's father retired from the Stockton Fire Department as Captain in 1989 after 30 years of service. With his passing in 2016, Dan is pleased to be able to honor his service the Department by serving on the Board of this Foundation.
Carlos Correa
Director
Carlos is an award winning journalist and EMMY nominee who spent close to twenty years covering communities for television stations in Iowa, Missouri and New Mexico. He spent 7 years in California reporting in Bakersfield and San Diego. From 2017-2019, Carlos was the best Stockton bureau chief and multimedia reporter for CBS Sacramento. Now, he is a digital reporter and social media manager in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and continues to be very active on our board.
Rick Stubstad
Director
Rick is a former Stockton Fire Fighter. He spent 25 years with the department and recently retired as a Division Chief. He enjoys water skiing, mountain biking, fishing and traveling. He was born and raised in California and currently lives in Amador County. Rick is excited to be a part of the Stockton Fire Foundation.
Carmen Mendoza
Director
Carmen Mendoza was raised in Stockton, and has spent the last 22 years working for the City of Stockton. Carmen is one of the newest members of the Board of Directors. She enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her family. Currently, Carmen is an Office Specialist for the Stockton Fire Department, a role she's held for 11 years.
