The Foundation serves those who serve the community. All donations are an investment in Stockton firefighters.

The Stockton Fire Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 organization dedicating to supporting and partnering with Stockton firefighters.

* Created by dedicated citizens to demonstrate community appreciation for fighters and foster awareness of their valuable services.

* An independent organization, not affiliated with the City of Stockton, the Stockton Fire Department, or the firefighter's union.

* Fundraising efforts provide supplemental financial support for equipment, supplies training, and technology, as well as community outreach and education.

Foundation funding starts where the City's budget ends.

Approximately 180 firefighters are deployed at 12 firehouses across Stockton. Among their many responsibilities, they:

  • Fight structure and other fires

  • Respond to medical emergencies

  • Investigate arson incidents

  • Provide fire prevention inspection services for

     homes and businesses

  • Offer educational events for children and the community

  • Host an emergency 911 command center

  • Train new recruits for Stockton and regional Fire Departments

The Stockton Fire Department also operates several specialty programs:

  • Water rescue

  • Hazardous materials

  • Urban search and rescue

  • Wildland deployment (forest fires)

Demand for Stockton Fire Services is extremely high. The Stockton Fire Department's "call volume," or per capita requests for fire and medical services, is among the highest in the nation.

At the same time, the City of Stockton, like many cities today, faces budgetary constraints. The Stockton Fire Foundation leverages connections with the community to provide supplemental funding that supports the daily activities of firefighters.
